Last year I got a big beautiful real tree in a pot so I could replant it in my yard after Christmas was over. Well, it did not live after I planted it and it made me so sad. I decided to just put up my old faux tree this year instead of going through all the fuss again. I need to get over the grief of losing my tree, but maybe next year I will try another potted one again.
I went out last year and bought a bunch of new ornaments and decor at the after Christmas sales for 50% and 75% off. It was so fun to put up all my new things this year. I had said last year when I did my tree, all the red just didn't look right in my living room. It clashed with all the soft tones in the room. I had planned ahead that I was going to do a more neutral theme this year, like this pic I had posted and this one.
So I stuck with whites, golds, and silvers.
I love how it turned out, just like I envisioned.
I wrapped burlap around the bottom of it and used burlap garland.
I got the finial below off of Ebay.
It's hard to tell, but it's pretty old and has sat atop many a tree over the years.
Hope you're having a wonderful holiday season!
There has only been one Christmas, the rest are anniversaries.

Your tree is simply beautiful!
Nicely done, Jolie! It's absolutely gorgeous!! Great idea with the burlap, too. I think I might try that this year under our big tree.
Your tree is just beautiful! I love the contrast in textures with the burlap and shells and the sparkles. Rustic and natural yet delicate and elegant at the same time. Hmmm....I think I know what I'll be looking for in the after-Christmas sales this year!
Love the colour theme goes with your decor brilliantly and the burlap skirt is a nice touch too. Merry Christmas :)
Your tree looks so pretty. I love the burlap garland. And that Little Foot is so cute. Jennifer in PA
Jolie, I absolutely LOVE your tree! It is so beautiful and unique. It is very "you." :)
I wish I could have a tree, but my cat would destroy it. Does LF leave your tree alone?
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
LF doesn't mess with the tree. He is an angel when it comes to leaving my things alone. He won't even mess with my food if I leave him alone in the room with it.
Oh that is a shame you can't get a tree because of the kitty.
Have a Merry Christmas!
