Day 32
Every year, Mt. Airy has a Holiday Tour of Homes and I finally got to go this year. It was really fun! As soon as we started, it began to snow. You can see as the photos progress, how there is more and more snow on the ground. It was such a beautiful day! Here are a few of my favorite pics from the tour today. They are all older historical homes.
The Cooke Home
Adorable little girls room.
The Yarboro Home
A lot of the old homes have fireplaces in the bedrooms.
I love how they painted the stripes on these walls.
The William Alfred Moore House
This one was hard to get a good picture of since it was up on a hill.
A beautiful Library.
I think this sunroom was my all time favorite of all the rooms I saw today.
I would give anything for a room like this!
Office of Faw, Folger & Johnson, PC
Sargent House
(Looks like something out of a story book, doesn't it?)
All of the beautiful wood throughout this house was breathtaking. I think this one had the most charm.
Beautiful old bathroom with all of it's original subway tile and hex flooring.
LOVE!!!!
This house even had it's own phone room.
I've never even seen one of these rooms before.
Globe Tobacco Lofts
These lofts use to be an old tobacco building.
They did a great job turning them into lofts.
(Painting on the brick wall.)
The lofts even have a playground for the children.
The lobby.
This one is actually inside one of the resident's loft. I really love this, even though it's very contemporary.
Kidwell Home
There was even an atrium in the bathroom.
Hope you enjoyed the tour, I know I had a great time touring all of these beautiful historic homes.
See there are all sorts of little treasures here in Mt. Airy.

Wow. How gorgeous! I LOVE that sunroom, too...and the library before it...and the diamonds on the walls before that...and the snow in your pictures. It's all gorgeous!!!
Just beautiful. I'm just amazed that the sunroom exists. In a real home. Beautiful. Just beautiful.
I also like the bedrooms with trees. Very fun!
My daughter now wants to live in a loft! Thanks for sharing the pics, they are beautiful!
I had to come back and look again. Hubby was rushing me last night. It's all just so gorgeous! I'm going to look for a tour of homes in our area!
WOW The homes are just lovely!!!! :D
I love older, historical homes! What a great event for a town to do! The Yarboro Home (style) is my favorite and I've always dreamed of having a fireplace in my room someday! Love it and the snow just makes the homes so picturesque.
I love that loft!
