Update #3 on House Offer

Another update on the Spanish Bungalow.  My Realtor called me today to let me know the house is already back up on the market, but she raised the price $15k higher than she had it listed before.  She had a lot of showings when she first put it out there and an offer the 2nd day, so now she thinks she can get more for the house, hence the price increase.

I went and looked at it one more time today and told my Realtor to put in my original offer that I put in before and just see where it goes from there.  I personally wouldn't even have paid asking price of what she had it listed for before, much less the 15k increase.

It seems there is more drama than there needs to be on this little house.
I'm just not sure what to think of all of this. I'm feeling negative vibes from it all because of how the seller is handling this.

I put in an offer and she decides not to sell and tells my Realtor she isn't ready to sell until she finds another house for herself to purchase, then puts it back on the market 2 days later with the price jacked up.

Is this normal? What do you make of what the seller is doing?

I say go with your gut. I find that story a little unbelievable, too. Sometimes it seems God puts obstacles in the way for a reason..maybe you have yet to see your next perfect home!

Sketchy, at best! When things get this complicated, you just have to wonder what people's real motives are. Sad, to say the least, but praying that a quick answer comes your way so you can either move in or move on! Blessings sweet friend!

jolie, i would say the seller has a little bit of greed going on...you've had so many obstacles in trying to buy this house and if it's meant to be, you'll get it, but without all the drama. i dare say the way this seller is handling the sale of this house might backfire on her...just pray that God will open the door to whatever house you're meant to have.

good luck sweetie!

Sounds like she is indecisive and doesn't really know what she wants... pretty typical for women, eh? lol..

I'm sure it's terribly frustrating though. Keep your chin up. And though it sounds like a cliche, it's true that it will work out if it's supposed to. :)

Have a happy week!

I worked for a real estate agent who had a client that did exactly this...priced his house "to sell," was flooded with offers in the first week, got greedy & took the house off the market only to re-list it a few days later with an inflated price. It then sat on the market for a year. You did the right thing by offering your original price, but until the seller gets a good dose of reality, chances are she will hold out for more money. I found that these things usually work out for the best no matter which side of the table you are on, so it's best not to get too emotionally attached to any one house & hold on for the ride!
Best of luck to you!

Remember that the real estate people base their business on lies, so it probably was that higher price all along and she was fishing for commmision, This is very common and happens quite often.

My realtor told me she didn't think it was worth the higher price she Re-listed it at, especially when you look at the comps in the area. My Realtor also told me that the sellers Realtor didn't think she should have re-listed it higher either.

This house was bought by the seller just one year ago at 50k less than what she has it listed at and she hasn't done a single update or upgrade to the place at all.

Ho hum, I'm just trying to be patient with the seller and get through this without all my hair turning gray! haha
